Q.
What can You do about noisy neighbors in your building?
A. NYC is a noisy town, but that
doesn’t mean you have to  tolerate a noisy neighbor. As a general
matter of law, all tenants have an absolute right to quiet and peaceful
enjoyment of their apartments based on a NY State law entitled the
“Warranty of Habitability.” See Real Property Law § 235-b. In addition,
many leases contain rules that specify the “quiet” hours and the amount
of floor that must be carpeted.

the problem of noisy neighbor.
