How To Protect Your Child?

 

 

 

 

Protecting Your Child From Lead Poisoning It’s Just as easy as ABC!

 

 

1.     Get your child tested for lead poisoning, even if they seem healthy.

 

2.     Clean floors, window frames, window sills, and other surfaces weekly.

 

3.     Make sure your child eats healthy foods containing Iron, Calcium & vitamin C, (Fruits & Vegetables) Children with good diets absorb less lead.

4.     Run cold water 15-30 seconds before drinking it or cooking with it.

Wash children’s hands often, especially when coming from outside and before eating.

6.     Clean or remove shoes before   entering your home to avoid tracking in lead from soil.

7.     Keep children from chewing window sills or other painted surfaces.

8.     If you live in a building built before 1978 make sure you test for lead even though there isn’t any paint peeling

9.     When removal is required, let a professional certified contractor handle the job. Don’t try to remove lead paint yourself.

10.   Most of all get yourself & family members involved and gain knowledge about how harmful lead poisoning can be to your health.
